I usually never read non-fiction due to its bad reputation with horrible self-help book (I'm looking at you, Jordan Peterson), but this book gripped me. It's a warm, engaging and funny book about a therapist who sees another therapist after her boyfriend breaks up with her.
In my opinion this is a very important book for us as a society for a simple and justified reason - it destigmatizes therapy. Each of us could use a therapist once in a while, even when there's nothing wrong, it helps to have someone to vent to and who can provide valuable insight.
Now about the book, Gottlieb describes her experience in therapy for herself and the therapy she provides to a few different patients with compassion and humor. the writing is conversational and demystifies therapy, both the process and the emotion involved, and her deep care.
It genuinely made me drop a few tears and I would recommed it to, well, simply anyone! READ IT!
