So, as many readers probably did, the first Blake work that I read was "Dark Matter" and I loved it. I was so amazed in fact, that I came to read this one, and it did not disappoint in the slightest. And I'm certainly not the only person impressed by the book, the book won the "best sci-fi category from goodreads choice awards 2020"! That alone says something.
Anyway, there are two main characters - Barry Sutton, a cop investigating the mysterious FMS, or, False Memory Syndrome - a phenomenon that drives its victims insane with false memories of a life they never lived. The other leading character, Helena Smith, Helena Smith, is a neuroscientist that understands the importance of memory; she dedicated her life to creating technology that lets you preserve any moment of the recipient's memories.
That's pretty much the premise I can talk about without spoilers. I will, however, tell you this: Recursion is a sci-fi thriller about memories and how precious they are to us.
It's an addictive story about love, loss, redemption and life.
