Like most of humanity, Wade Watts escapes this depressing reality by spending his waking hours jacked into the OASIS, a sprawling virtual utopia where you can be anything you want to be, where you can live and play and fall in love on any of ten thousand planets. And like most of humanity, Wade is obsessed by the ultimate lottery ticket that lies concealed within this alternate reality: OASIS founder James Halliday, who dies with no heir, has promised that control of the OASIS - and his massive fortune - will go to the person who can solve the riddles he has left scattered throughout his creation. For years, millions have struggled fruitlessly to attain this prize, knowing only that the riddles are based in the culture of the late twentieth century. * a o co v knížce zhruba jde? Představte si hypotetickou situaci: Mark Zuckerberg by zemřel a někde ve facebooku by uložil/ukryl seznam několika nápovědí, jak se dostat k jeho bohatství. No, tak to by určitě nastala facebookovská hoňka/hysterie/mamon po penězích.
No a přesně na této myšlence je založena i tato knížka. Jenže facebook se jmenuje Oasis (ne ta britská skupina ani ten kus zelené plochy uprostřed pouště!).
Tentokrát mi dovolte začít klady, které se mi na knize líbily.
Ze všeho nejdříve musím pochválit autora za to, jak skvěle celý příběh dokázal napsat, musím uznat, že jsem chvílemi pochybovala o tom, že je to smyšlené.
Dále se mi líbilo, že se v knize nachází tolik odkazů na různé filmy, seriály či hudební skupiny a docela mě překvapilo, že jich většinu znám.
Za vyzdvihnutí také stojí chování některých postav, kdy autor popisuje, co jsou někteří lidé schopni pro peníze udělat, to mi také přišlo docela realistické. No, ve zkratce, kniha nese určité poselství, jak by to s naším světem mohlo dopadnout, kdyby to šlo dál tak, jak je to v současnosti.
Co se týče záporů, jako takových, jsem si žádných nevšimla. Teď se spíš budu vztekat nad chováním lidí v knize obecně. Nechápu to, že než aby něco udělali se skutečností, radši se schovají do hry. Dobře, kdyby na hodinu nebo na dvě, aby se odreagovali, ale že tam zůstanou třeba třináct hodin v kuse? To mi opravdu nejde do hlavy.
