Příběh celoživotní zakázané lásky, vyprávěný samotnými aktéry s odstupem mnoha desetiletí prostřednictvím několika krátkých údobí spalující vášně, těch živých událostí, mezi nimiž se rozkládají předlouhé, nevýrazné intervaly života, z nichž si odnášíme jen rozmazané dojmy a které jitří fantasii a ponechávají obrovský prostor pro čtenářovo dokreslení osobností a motivací postav, vše v rytmu vypravěčovy teorie času, již rozvíjel celý život.
