A great novel, especially considering when it was written. I very much appreciated the insight the author got in the year 1909 about 'world-wide web' predecessor and the risks of suppressing certain aspects of human existence. Althought it is a short novel, it contains powerful ideas much similar to those further elaborated in Huxley's Brave New World or Bradbury's 451° Fahrenheit. Notably, to me, the most exciting part was the one where the 'Machine' has become some sort of deity of its own kind. People have eventually forgotten that it was actually men's creation. This could, in the near future, also very well happen in case of a human level intelligent AI, or general purpose AI, if the humanity will not maintain the control (as suggests Stuart Russell in his book Human Compatible).
